Tolland Little League Families,

 

I hope you had a very enjoyable Memorial Day weekend remembering those we lost serving our country - and having some fun as well.

 

It appears likely that the next phase of Connecticut reopening on June 20 ^th will include Little League and other youth sports, but at this time, there has been no COVID guidance pertaining to these activities issued by the Governor’s Reopening Committee.  However, Little League International has published a guide with recommended safeguards related to resumption of softball and baseball games this season.  Game play will look a bit different, but it will enable us to continue to offer some activities for our players.  

 

Unfortunately some of these safeguards would be difficult to implement in order to create a safe play environment at our lower levels of play.  Therefore, we have decided that it will not be feasible this year to hold softball at the Farm level and lower, and baseball at the AA level and lower.  Accordingly, all registration payments for those divisions will be refunded.  AAA baseball is still being assessed, and we will communicate our decision with you shortly.  We are refunding registration payments for AAA too, and if we hold AAA activities, then they will be at no cost.

 

We will be sending a survey to the older levels of play to determine the level of interest in playing with the required safeguards implemented and requesting information on equipment owned by players.  We are hopeful that we can provide in this survey full details concerning required safeguards, but this will be dependent on receiving guidance from the Governor's Reopening Committee.  If you decide at any time to withdraw your registration please let us know and your registration will be refunded.

I will continue to keep you informed as we learn more about how we can safely play Little League softball and baseball this year.
